the voices of our youth are going away...

Larry Munson, the voice of the Georgia Bulldogs for over 40 years has decided to retire. He's 86 and his health has been failing and sooner or later, you knew he would have to retire, but now that its here, its hard to believe. I grew up to his voice. You can click on the pic and read the article. You can also listen to three of his most famous calls below.
First, UGA vs UF in 1980 (Lindsay Scott goes 93 yards to win the game, the stadium falls down, there's property destroyed and Munson breaks his chair).


Second, UGA vs UT in 1980 (Herschel Walker runs over everyone and Munson praises God for that freshman).


Third, UGA vs UT in 2001 (Verron Haynes catches a last second TD to win the game and we crush their faces with a hobnail boot).

The Dirtiest Player in the Game

The Nature Boy may have retired from professional wrestling, but that does no mean he's retired from kicking ass. Ric Flair was arrested last weekend in Chapel Hill for fighting his daughter's boyfriend. Awesome.

Duke football this weekend.

So Duke won their first game. This is a big deal and to see the Blue Devils with a winning record (however insignificant it may be) is kind of a surprise, but not nearly as big a surprise as Duke got before the game when a skydiver delivered the game ball. The surprise came when everyone figured out that the skydiver was supposed to be landing at UNC and delivering their game ball. What a dummy.

RIP Snowman

Jerry Reed, aka Cledus "Snowman" Snow in Smokey and the Bandit or Coach Red Beaulieu in The Waterboy, has passed away. total bummer.
