Bulls Revenge...

Years ago, a buddy and I rented a DVD called Bull's Revenge. It was obviously scenes from bull fights where the bull got to fight back. These clips HERE are a lot of similar type clips... animals getting pissed at humans and kicking some ass. See below for a couple of examples...

man vs. leopard

man vs. tiger

more crazy shit from the Triangle...

I guess you could make a joke about UNC Football players after reading this, but this story is just kind of weird...

Click HERE for the story of some UNC Football Players getting robbed and assaulted by two women and a dude. Weird.

judd apatow backlash...

more sticking it to college radio...

It's bad enough that Republicans are trying to ruin radio, but now the Democrats are joining in. I hate the RIAA! Click HERE for a terrible new bill introduced in both houses yesterday. It's a performance tax. This is on top of the licensing paid to SESAC, BMI, and ASCAP and on top of the money paid by stations to webstream.

You can go to the Free Radio Alliance and get more info about opposing this bill. Also HERE is a good bit of info from the Broadcast Law Blog. Finally, HERE is a bit more info.

You Dead Dawg.

Our buddy, and former Durhamite Elijah Dukes is in the news again. From a Tampa Bay blog (Dukes was cut by the Rays and then sent to the Nationals): Reese said she and Dukes had briefly dated. She said they met in August and split in October. Reese says Dukes sent her a text message on Oct. 23 that stated she would "have to deal with the consequences" and "don't let me see you when I come home" and "it's a promise, now make your move." On Nov. 24, according to Reese, Dukes came to her home to discuss an incident that took place in his home before their split. After that visit, she said, he has been calling her home at inappropriate times. "It's on," Dukes said during a 5 a.m. phone call, according to Reese.
This is following Elijah Dukes past troubles. Which you can read about here and here and here and here.

30 years ago yesterday...

If you don't know the story, it was 30 years ago yesterday that Elvis Costello and the Attractions appeared on Saturday Night Live. They wanted to play Radio Radio but SNL said no as it was thought to be 'anti-media.' So they started playing Less Than Zero, but stopped eight seconds in and played Radio Radio anyway, which led to them being banned from SNL for 12 years.

This might be even more relevant today... the FCC is meeting right now and they seem to be aiming to screw over local radio.

By the way, did I mention, that FCC Chairman and major asshat Kevin Martin is a Duke alum and supposedly used to dj at wxdu.

How many 5 year olds can you take in a fight?

We all know Clinton Portis has been using costumes for a while. Its been pretty interesting, but Hichori Morimoto has one-upped our buddy Southeast Jerome. Below we see him recently accepting his gold glove award and then a couple of other "candids". Did I mention he plays for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters?

quick comments about Petrino...

busy day today, so no real time to comment. So Bobby Petrino bailed on the Falcons. On one hand, its been a tough year for the dude. Dealing with the Mike Vick situation turned the team into a mess, so I kind of understand his desire to get the heck out of the ATL. On the other hand, I kind of like the guy and was looking forward to seeing him build a high-powered offensive team and now I feel kind of deserted and angry. I guess I should expect it, since he bailed on L'ville after signing a 10-year deal. Now he's in the SEC and that's one more good coach in a league stacked with quality coaches. I hope UGA destroys him every chance they get. Que sera, sera.

UPDATE: The more I think about this the more frustrated and disappointed I get. I think the Falcons should bring back the Run and Shoot.

movies thoughts...

So occasionally, I'll actually want to write something original on this site, like a sports rant or a movie review. For instance, I just saw No Country For Old Men this weekend, and I'll probably try to find time to review it soon. Before the movie, I saw a trailer for There Will Be Blood. This movie looks like its gonna be awesome. Daniel Day Lewis's character looks like a total badass, maybe as much as a badass as Bill "the Butcher" Cutting, whose on baddassery might be rivaled by Javier Bardem's character Anton Chigurh (more on this later). Anyway, my original point was to talk about movie titles. I know No Country For Old Men is a book originally, but whatever, its a great fitting title. There Will Be Blood is also an amazing title. Although the movie seems to be about oil, I'm sure there will be plenty of blood.
Now, I just saw a trailer for a new badass movie and I know that there will be plenty of blood. Its called Machine Girl. Check it out...

hip-hop charts and graphs...

click for more hip-hop fun with graphs and charts...

ok, so tim tebow won the heisman. first sophomore ever to win. sure, he probably deserves it. but lets keep things in perspective. back in the day, say 1980 and 1981, there was an unwritten rule among the voters that couldn't/wouldn't vote for an underclassman. I guess I'm glad that the rule no longer exists, but I can't help but to think that Herschel Walker would have won every year that he was in college. He still garnered enough votes to finish 3rd after his freshman year and definitely should have won his sophomore year, when he finished 2nd. He finally won in 1982, and I'm positive that if he played his senior year he would have won again, easily. Anyway, this is the normal rant I give every year about nobody measuring up to Herschel, but damn, its true. The guy is always listed as one of the top 3 college football players ever, often first. pure dominance.

name that tune...

guess the TV theme songs...

Things I Hate!!!

1. The BCS: UGA got screwed and I don't think national championship game has the two best teams in the country. I think UGA, Oklahoma, and USC are all better than Ohio State and LSU. Their polls mean nothing. The leap-frogging is ridiculous.
2. The Rose Bowl: They are one of the main obstacles to having a playoff.
3. The Big 10 (11) & The Pac-10: see above. Sorry over-hyped conferences and easy schedules.
4. College Football Analysts: They are idiots. They discounted UGA and promoted LSU as the superior team. They pointed out the LSU only lost games in overtime, but failed to point out that LSU barely won several of their other games, including a last second lucky win against Auburn and a squeaker against Florida, two opponents that UGA beat soundly. Also, one dummy said that because Tennessee beat UGA and LSU beat Tennessee, it all made sense. He forgot to point out that Kentucky beat LSU and UGA easily beat Kentucky. It doesn't add up.
5. Les Miles: This guy just spouts idiocy and isn't a very good coach.
6. Tennessee: They beat UGA, then they wouldn't lose games that I wanted them to lose, and then they lost the one game I wanted them to win.
